Hello and welcome to our class blog! What an awesome few weeks we have had! We have been learning SO much about so many things. What you may ask? Well just take a peek into those really cool planners to know. Planners really are the best way to know what has been going on in our room. We will share lots of really cool things here too (take a look over on the side of the blog at last year's science movies for an example) but the planner is definitely IT when it comes to knowing what is what with our class. Hopefully the students will be writing these updates in the very near future but for now we will have to rely on my tech skills which are still in the growing phase!
We have many, many classroom volunteers. Thank you so much. We have so many at home correctors you will probably only see an envelope of assignments every other week or so. What a wonderful group of helpers you all are! Thank you, thank you, thank you!
We have two awesome field trips coming up in October so keep an eye on our blog for more information soon.
We are beginning our math block on multiplication. It is VERY important for all students to have memorized basic facts through 12 at this point. I have noticed there are many students who have not mastered these facts, this block will be extremely difficult for them. Please make sure your student has memorized the multiplication chart completely. The 5th grade math curriculum does not give time for these facts to be taught at school. They really should have been mastered in 3rd grade. Thank you for your help with this important skill.
Please be sure students are at school on time and rested this week as we are testing. Thanks again for all of the support. It's going to be a great year!
